Excellent! September 14, 2009 Joebar (NY, United States) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
This stuff is great... I started detailing my car the other day and was using some old turtle wax polishing compound I found in my garage... Swirl-mark central! I went out and picked this up, and it removed those swirl marks instantly and quickly brought life back to my 23 year old car's finish. Applies and comes off very easily. To the guy who wrote about the "glaze" in his review -- you know you're supposed to buff the compound off soon after it dries right? Don't use too soft a towel either, or it'll be tougher to remove. I removed the haze with a terry towel, then buffed it again briefly with a microfiber one. The microfiber one on its own does not have enough texture to remove the haze.
Again, terrific! No swirl marks to speak of and very gentle.
WOW! June 10, 2009 David Andersen (McMinnville, OR USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I cannot tell you how impressed I am with this product. My red 1991 Toyota pickup was badly oxidized and looked pink. This stuff works so fast by hand you really don't need a power buffer. It removed all of the old oxidized paint, and what's left is a brilliant shiny red finish. If your paint is badly neglected and looks dull, I highly recommend this.
great polisher, don't use too much May 24, 2010 L. Szu Tao (San Jose, CA United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
A great product, don't confuse this with a wax, as this will "sand" down your clear coat / paint, which is how it removes scratches / corrosive stain and restore gloss.
It works great with a orbital buffer (don't even bother by hand with a whole car), will bring out the shine in about 5-6 passes (depending), you don't even need pressure, just one note, do not use too much on your buffing pad, as it needs to dry up a bit to buff to a shine, then there is minimum wipe off.
then of course now you can wax your car, just to protect and give extra gloss.
UC - Excellent Consumer Product September 22, 2009 BA 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I did a test spot of the Ultimate Compound (UC) by hand on the hood of my heavily-swirled and scratched dark green 1997 Honda CR-V. I was impressed with the job it did by hand, so I decided to do the whole car using UC and my Porter Cable 7424 dual action polisher. After polishing the car, I followed with Meguiar's Carnauba Wax, and the CR-V looks like a totally different car. I was totally unaware of how much lighter in color the paint is and how shiny the car's finish really is until I used UC.
UC is an excellent product and an excellent value at less than $10. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who owns a car with a soft clear coat, such as a Honda.
One Of The Best Detailing Products October 7, 2009 Raymond Seneres (Raleigh, NC USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I used this mainly to remove bad water spots from a client's black Z06 Corvette. He had paid a local auto dealer to detail the car, but they failed to remove the bad spots. After washing and clay barring, I used this product on my PC 7424 and on the first pass, it removed 99% of the spots. This product gives the best results when it is used with a 7424 set at about 4, and thoroughly working the product down. Definitely do smaller areas at a time, otherwise it can be stubborn to remove. I agree with another poster that terrycloth works much better than microfiber. I followed this up with #7, then NXT 2.0. My client was amazed, and said that his car never looked this good.
I want to also point out that the first bottle of this stuff that I bought disintegrated for some reason. It could be heat, but if so, it is the only detail product I have ever owned that "went bad" in the bottle. I hope my local retailer replaces it.
With the next car I do, I plan to follow the same process, but top it off with Collinite 845 instead.
